St Rita’s Primary School enjoys access to numerous technological devices to assist our students’ engagement and learning. It crosses over into all areas of curriculum. The Senior Class use 1-1 iPads and more recently, now also have individual chrome books. The younger grades have class sets of iPads and chrome books for learning. In addition to this, the classrooms and library are complete with desktop computers and the library also contains a set of laptops for student use.

Children use various apps to record and display their knowledge in a Science Unit.

To make sure students are able to use the technology to its potential, students participate in ICT lessons.

These lessons are either run by the classroom teacher or our eLearning coordinator. We focus on the use of creative technology, meaning our students use technology to create and design, as well as to research curriculum areas. This includes covering the ICT general capabilities contained  in the Australian Curriculum, including coding. St Rita’s also places an emphasis on Responsible Digital Citizenship which is covered each year in class. In addition cyber safety sessions are held for our students, staff and parents throughout the school year.

  • We acknowledge the First Nations peoples of Australia, the traditional custodians of the land, seas, skies and waterways on which we reside, work, travel and meet. We pay our respect to First Nations elders past, present, and emerging, and support the Uluru Statement From The Heart. We acknowledge that the land, seas, skies and waterways of Australia were, are and always will be, that of the First Nations peoples.
